Defence Services College (DSC) at Kompannaveediya, Colombo 2 had its 4th annual Sports Meet at Malay Street play ground Wednesday (22) morning.
The eventful and much-awaited annual feature, filled with excitement, skills and entertainment assumed greater significance when the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, together with Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Children after offering sheaves of betel received the Chief Guest on arrival at the venue and conducted him to the stage with the school band.
Sports Meet, replete with different games like relay runs, high jump, long jump, disc throwing, javelin, hurdle races, etc provided a couple of fun making sports events to parents and members of the tutorial staff.
Trophies and prizes to the winners were given away by the Chief Guest, Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya and a few others.
A gathering of invitees including the Director, DSC and the Principal DSC attended the day’s event.
