A special discussion that explored possibilities to provide the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certificate of the National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) to Army tradesmen got underway recently at the Army Logistic Command, Kosgama.
Major General Indu Samarakoon, Commander, Army Logistics Command, together with Commandants at island-wide Army trade schools held the discussion with NAITA authorities where exclusive technical and professional skills, possesed by Army tradesmen were highlighted and brought to the attention of NAITA authorities for recognition and award of the NVQ certificate to those skilled Army tradesmen as it would enormously benefit those Army personnel particularly after retirement as a stimulant to their technical know-how.
