Dimbulagala Students Get Free School Shoes Thru Army Initiative

9 Sri Lanka Artillery troops of the 233 Brigade under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East, extending the Army's helping hand towards deserving students gifted 60 pairs of school shoes to students in schools under the Dimbulagala Educational Zone once again after inviting the beneficiaries to the office premises of the Zonal Education office at Dimbulagala on Wednesday (2).

The distribution, organized on the instructions of Major General Shewanth Kulathunga, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division as one more addition to the same project that continued in the past was sponsored by Ceylon Leather Products PLC Limited through the coordination of Major General (Retd) Channa Goonatillake. The same sponsor, to this date has provided 5761 pairs of school shoes to students in the same Educational Zone under several phases of the project.

The distribution got underway in the presence of Major General Shewanth Kulathunga as the Chief Guest, Mrs. Chandimala Wasalamudali, Zonal Educational Directors, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel Priyantha Malawarage, Commander, 232 Brigade, Commanding Officer, 9 Sri Lanka Artillery, Lieutenant Colonel W.M.T.D.D Wanigasekara, Principals, teachers, parents, Officers, Other Ranks and representatives of the donors.
