As of this morning (21), a total of 770 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 02 Sri Lankan expatriates and other 768 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 270 from Colombo district, 80 from Gampaha district, 56 from Matara district and other 362 from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (21), a total of 55,188 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 47,214 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,700 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (21), 621 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. One more death has been reported from Mellawagedara in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 274 by this morning (21).
By this morning (21), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 17 passengers, the flight UL 1508 from Saudi Arabia with76 passengers and the flight UL 471 from Korea with 13 passengers have arrived.
The flight WI 371 from Oman with 50 passengers, the flight UL102 from the Maldives with 19 passengers, the flight UL 184 from Pakistan with 2 passengers, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 15 passengers, the flight UL 186 from Pakistan with 05 passengers, the flight UL 102 from Baharain with 186 passengers and the flight EK 648 from the UAE with 75 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
