Cultivation of 'Hydrangea' Flower to be Expanded at Diyatalawa

A pilot project to expand the cultivation of Hydrangea flower in Diyatalwa with the support of private sector expertise got underway during a brief launching near the upcoming Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) welfare shop.

During a recent visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, together with Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit discussed possibilities of expansion of this flower plant's cultivation since it is popular both here and abroad alike.

Hayleys Agriculture Private Limited responding to a request to this effect offered their expertise and explored possibilities of commencing the project inside the SLMA and Security Force HQ- Central (SFHQ-Central) premises on Tuesday (19) after providing their technical know-how to Army personnel working in the Academy compound.

Major General Kumar Jayapathirana,Commander Security Forces-Central facilitated the commencement of the project where Mr Arjuna Balasooriya, Hayleys Manager Operations, Mr Udaya Priyadarshana, Hayleys Manager Productions and Brigadier Sarath Tennakoon, Brigadier Administration and Quartering, SFHQ-Central were also present. affiliate link trace | New Releases Nike
