CSO Continues Visits to 3 SLSC & SFHQ - Jaffna

The Chief Signal Officer (CSO) of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), Major General Ashoka Peiris on Friday (12) made his maiden visit to the 3 SLSC HQ after assumption of duties as the CSO.

A Guard Turnout at the entrance greeted him before he was welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 3 SLSC, Lieutenant Colonel H.A.D.W Hettiarachchi, followed by offer of floral tributes to the memory of War Heroes at the monument.

Afterwards, he received a briefing on the role and tasks of the troops and left the area for the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna to meet Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.

After the discussion with the Jaffna Commander, the visiting Major General Ashoka Peiris returned to the 3 SLSC HQ where he was invited to leave memories by planting a sapling to mark his visit. Subsequently, Colonel Commandant addressed the troops at the Other Ranks’ Mess. Towards the end of the visit Commanding Officer and Colonel Commandant exchanged mementos.

He left compliments in the visitors’ book before his departure.

Meanwhile, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps paid his first official visit to 6 SLSC (IT) in Jaffna on 12 March 2021.

He was welcomed by the Commanding Officer 6 SLSC (IT), Lieutenant Colonel S.H.L.D Fernando where he was accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops of 6 SLSC. Then he planted a sapling to mark his visit.
