Commando Regiment (CR) of the Army, which has made a name for itself in the battlefield, had its ‘Colours Night - 2012’ recently at Buddhist Cultural Centre auditorium at Thunmulla Junction.
At the invitation of Major General C Gallage, Colonel of the Commando Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel S.D. Pieris (Retd) graced the occasion as Chief Guest for award of colours to those who excelled in sports during the past year.
The simple but elegantly organized ceremony was attended by a large gathering of CR officers and soldiers, both serving and retired in addition to the colour recipients attended the occasion.
