COVID-19 Death Toll Rises to 459–NOCPCO

As of this morning (26), a total of 466 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 02 Sri Lankan expatriates and 464 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 164 from Colombo district, 76 from Gampaha district, 48 from Nuwara Eliya and 176 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (26), a total of 81,932 persons, inclusive of 77,868 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 76,960 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 4,513 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 447 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 2 more deaths have been reported from Kadawatha and Wattala areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 459 by this morning (26).
