COVID-19 Death Toll Rises to 450-NOCPCO

As of this morning (23), a total of 518 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 28 Sri Lankan expatriates and 490 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 175 from Colombo district, 77 from Gampaha district, 41 from Kandy district and 197 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (23), a total of 70,516 persons, inclusive of 76,918 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 75,109 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 4,957 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 811 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 5 more deaths have been reported from Nugegoda, Colombo 13, Colombo 12, Dunagaha and Minuwangoda areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 450 by this morning (23).
