Construction Work at 'Abimansala-2' in Progress

Construction work in the proposed, ‘Abimansala-2’, the state-of-the-art complex for lifetime care of 48 more South-based dependent War Heroes in Wilpitawatta, Kamburupitiya are now in full swing.

The ‘Abimansala’, the brainchild of Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army who succeeded in completing the pioneer project, ‘Abimansala’ at Anuradhapura to serve the same purpose, is a novel concept, not heard or seen elsewhere in the region or otherwise.

‘Abimansala’ fund-raising was successfully spearheaded by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch’s ‘Brave Hearts’ project. Donations to the project have been exempted from the taxes.

The proposed wellness resort for lifetime rest and relaxation of 48 more South-based dependent War Heroes with much-needed physical and medical therapeutic needs is to be brought to completion by the latter part of this year with the generous labour, provided by troops of the Engineer Service Regiment (ESR).
