Cordial relations that exist for years between Mr Kusala Sri Gunadasa, the son of yesteryear business magnate, Mr Gunadasa, more popularly known as ‘Dasa Mudalali’ and Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, resulted in an exemplary and magnificent gesture that appreciated invaluable sacrifices of the War Heroes in the Army.
In this month dedicated to ‘Ranaviruwan’, Senior Mr Gunadasa and Mrs Gunadasa, together with his son on Saturday (17), made their 56th wedding anniversary day a memorable and productive one by offering cash donations and gift parcels to a total of 56 selected War Heroes, belonging to all regiments after summoning them to their residence in Jawatte, Colombo.
Each War Hero, selected from most-needed families, was awarded Rs 50,000 in cash plus a gift parcel by the duo during the special anniversary arrangements at their residence as a token of their appreciation of their heroic deeds. Organized and coordinated by Brigadier W.A.V.A Sudasinghe, Director Army Quartering at Army Headquarters, the programme culminated with a luncheon interaction.
Minister Bandula Gunawardene, Brigadier Sudasinghe, Provincial Councillor, Ms H. Premachandra and several others were present at the occasion.
