Commander Worships Sri Naga Viharaya in Jaffna Town

Meegahajandure Siriwimala Thero, Incumbent at Sri Naga Viharaya in the heart of Jaffna town was one among religious dignitaries the visiting Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva met on Friday (20) during his tour in the peninsula. The incumbent monk performed religious rites and rituals inside the shrine and afterwards invoked blessings on the new Commander after tying a symbolic thread around his wrist as a form of blessings.

The monk expressed his pleasure on the new appointment and wished him strength, vision and all courage to carry on with his national duties and security for the best interests of the Nation. The visiting Army Chief presented a replica of a silver-plated kettle to the temple and left a few of his thoughts in the temple's Visitors' Book, prior to his exit from the places.
