Commander Takes New Year Greetings to 52 Division Troops

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army, currently in Jaffna to declare open the ‘Army Searchlight Tattoo’ Friday (23) afternoon, took time off to visit the 52 Division Headquarters premises at Kodikamam, Jaffna during morning hours.

Accompanied by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J), the visiting Commander during his visit to the Headquarters, unveiled a plaque and opened the newly-constructed conference hall in the premises before he addressed the troops serving there. During his brief address to the troops of 52, 51 and SFHQ-J who had gathered there, the Commander extended his New Year greetings to the soldiers and members of their families before he touched on a few current issues that have come up at international level.

Brigadier W.A.V.A Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding received the visiting Army Chief on arrival at the venue. A Guard Turn Out greeted the Chief Guest on the day.

Lieutenant General Jayasuriya was invited afterwards to plant a tree sapling in the premises as a token of memory of his visit to this 52 Division Headquarters.
