Commander Takes New Year Gifts to MSM Inmates

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army, together with Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, despite hectic security commitments, undertook a New Year visit to see differently-able War Heroes, resident at Attidiya Mihindu Seth Medura (MSM).

Two inmates, Lieutenant Colonel Jeewaka Gunathilake, Commandant, MSM welcomed the visitors and accompanied them to the wards where differently-able War Heroes are receiving rehabilitation and recuperation.

Lieutenant General Senanayake, Mrs Chandrika Senanayake and Major General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Staff afterwards began distributing New Year gift parcels among the inmates while extending greetings to each of them on account of the New Year.

The visitors spoke to the inmates and shared views with them on matters of concern and exchanged New Year wishes. Afterwards, the Commander joined for refreshments with 41 inmates under recuperation. Mrs Chandrika Senanayake on behalf of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit gifted the MSM with a stock of essential equipment and appliances.

Brigadier Shantha Rajakaruna, Director, Rehabilitation at the same location presented a memento to the Commander of the Army as a token of goodwill and appreciation of his visit to the MSM.

Major General Ruwan De Silva, Military Secretary, Major General Jagath Gunawardena, Master General Ordnance and several Senior Officers were present at the MSM during the Commander’s visit.Best Authentic Sneakers | Nike sneakers
