Commander Security Forces - Wanni Makes His First Visits to 54 Division Area After Assumption

Major General Priyantha Perera, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces-Wanni formally visited the 54 Division and its under command formations respectively on Wednesday (28) after his recent assumption of office.

The visiting Commander, Security Forces-Wanni was honoured in a Guard Turnout at the 54 Division HQ and was invited to plant saplings in respective camp locations during the visit. Major General Indrajith Bandara, General Officer Commanding of 54 Division briefed the visiting Commander on the operational deployment of troops in the region, served by the 54 Division.

During his visit to the 542 Brigade in Kallaru, a tree planting programme to coincide with the ‘Thuru Mithuru-Nava Ratak’ got underway. In addition, a stock of school accessories were also distributed among poor children in Kallaru area with the participation of the visiting Wanni Commander.

During the tour, he also visited 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 10 (V) Gemunu Watch and 15 (V) Gemunu Watch camps in the area and shared views with them.
