Commander Hails Artistes' Contribution to the Fund-Raising 'Tharu Dilena Reyak 3' Mega Show

The galaxy of singing and dancing stars that readily made their artistic talents available gratis to the ‘Brave Hearts’ fund-raising project of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) in the recent ‘Tharu Dilena Reyak 3’ musical fiesta was feted and their contribution hailed by the Commander of the Army himself in a get-together at his official residential quarters Wednesday (6) evening.

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army as the driving force behind the realization of the construction of wellness resorts (Abimansala) for totally dependent War Heroes, together with Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, SVAB warmly welcomed those veteran artistes on the occasion.

Towards the end of the interaction, the Commander of the Army appreciated and honoured Pandith Amaradeva and all other artistes attending the get-together by presenting each of them with a symbolic memento in appreciation of their invaluable share to the success of the ‘Tharu Dilena Reyak 3’ mega show.

Generous participation of those artistes in different fund-raising events in the recent past enabled the construction of both ‘Abimansala’ (wellness resorts) at Anuradhapura and Kamburupitiya for the benefit of more than 100 dependent War Heroes. The one at Pangolla, Kurunegala is to be a reality shortly after its recent foundation stone-laying ceremony.
