Commander En Route Inspects Army's First Eco-Friendly Luxurious Holiday Resort

Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya en route to Weerawila on Thursday (01) inspected the ongoing construction project of the Army’s first eco-friendly luxurious holiday resort at Palatupana, Yala.

This conceptual notion of the Commander of the Army is to be made a reality shortly with separate cottage-type erections conserving nature and other factors.

The resort with 10 cabana-type structures  is being built under a concept mooted by the Commander of the Army. This new holiday resort, each cottage with 03 separate rooms will have all luxurious facilities at a star class hotel. The resort is to have a  gymnasium, a swimming pool, a beach front, saunas, stadiums, etc that cater to the needs of any holiday-maker.

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya during the stopover at the construction site instructed the project workers to prioritize the conservation of the environment with least damage to its natural landscape, etc and complete it by May, this year.

The Army has embarked on several projects to erect more and more holiday resorts and upgrade the existing facilities for rest and recreation of officers and soldiers within the organization.
