Commander Congratulates Army Basketball Players Bound for Nepal

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Thursday (28) invited Army basketball players, expected to participate in the forthcoming SAF games in Kathmandu, Nepal to his office and motivated them for better achievements, giving them a piece of advice to them in good faith.

Lieutenant General Silva spoke to those 5 Army players and inquired into their readiness for the future event during the brief meet at the Commander's office. Rifleman K.S.S Perera of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Private G. Gajanayake of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, Private K.K.M.T.S Fernando of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Private K.M.G Siriwardene of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Private K.D.D Gunawardena of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps are among those who received the Commander's blessings for their expedition.

The Commander presented all five of them with mementos and extended best wishes for future gains. They also thanked the Commander for this rare privilege.
