Commander Commends Retiring Major General Sumith Premalal's Services

Major General Sumith Premalal of the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment (SLA), General Officer Commanding of the 51 Division of the SFHQ - Jaffna was invited by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva on the eve of his retirement from the Army to his office at the AHQ on Tuesday (31) where the latter commended his dedicated services to the Army for more than three decades.

General Shavendra Silva during the brief interaction recalled memories and appointments he held during his career and shared a few thoughts with retiring Major General Sumith Premalal. Memories on his dedicated service to the Army as well as to his own Regiment were refreshed and appreciated during the interaction.

The outgoing Senior Officer also thanked the Commander of the Army for his wishes and the thoughtfulness while mentioning about the encouragement he received from the Army Chief in the performance of his duties.
