Commander-in-Chief Keen on Historic Army Photos


President Mahinda Rajapaksa Friday (28) evening took time off to freely visit the Deyata Kirula - 2014 mega exhibition site at Kuliyapitiya, along with several Ministers and public officials in the midst of massive crowds.  

During his stay at the site, President Rajapaksa took a keen interest in visiting the Army zone in the exhibition, calling at each and every segment.

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army received the visiting President who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces at the entrance to the venue and ushered him around, explaining Army exhibits to the President.

President Rajapaksa, having a close look at many historic photos in the Army zone made several inquiries into some of the photos on display and shared his views with the Commander of the Army. His next stop was at the exhibits, put up by Special Forces and Commando Regiment of the Army.

He also did not forget to share a couple of words with soldiers on hand in several stalls before he moved to other sections of the mega exhibition.
