A programme, named ‘Ranaviru Abhianandana Pooja-2022', sponsored jointly by Mr Pasad Lokubalasoriya of Colombo Royal College, Colombo Royal College Old Boys' Association, Old friends of the Vidyartha College and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura gave away school accessories to 207 students of Other Rank and civil staff families serving the 68 Division on Thursday (3).
Appreciative of the service and dedication of the troops, away from their loved ones, the joint sponsors, composed of retired soldiers and veterans, made this donation after inviting their parents to the 68 Division HQ. on behalf of their children learning elsewhere in the country.
Children of Other Ranks as well as sons and daughters of the Civil Staffers serving in under command establishments received those incentives, considered as a great relief.
Major General Keerthi Bandara, General Officer Commanding 68 Division, immensely contributed to this programme through coordination, together with Brigadier N.D. P Gunathunga, 681 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Chaminda Galappaththi, 682 Brigade Commander and other Officers on the directions of Major General Sanjaya Wanasingha, Commander Security Forces - Mullaittivu.
