Chinese Ambassador Visits North

Chinese Ambassador Mr Wu Jiango and his delegation visited Northern Province recently (Oct 25-26) to witness development and resettlement activities in the area. During the visit, the delegation met several high ranking government and military officials in the area.

The delegation also visited Security Force Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ – J) where they were welcomed by the General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier B.H.M.A Wijesinghe and briefed on the current security situation of the area.

Chinese ambassador, accompanied by his delegation, on their return journey, visited the Security Forces Headquarters- Kilinochchi (SFHQ – KLN) where they had discussions with the Security Forces Commander-Kilinochchi Major General Udaya Perera.

The delegation received a briefing on how people of Northern Province enjoy dividends of peace following their daily routine and the Army’s involvement in Resettlement, development, basic assistance for the people, livelihood activities, education, sports, agriculture and other development activities in various sectors.
