The routine administrative inspection of the Commando Regiment (CR) was conducted by Major General Vikum Liyanage, Chief of Staff at the Commando Regimental Centre in Ganemulla on Friday (25).
The routine inspection mainly focused on the functional aspects of its battalions and rectified any shortcomings, lapses and sorted out pending issues as well as the matters related to the Regimental HQ.
On arrival, the Chief of Staff was warmly received by Major General Krishantha Gnanaratne, Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment and Colonel Kamal Dharmawardena, Centre Commandant before he was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the CR Regimental Centre.
Before the start of formal proceedings, the Chief of Staff highlighted the importance of administrative inspections. Respective Directors and Staff Officers of different Directorates and Branches tabled their observations and laid down procedures, related for resolution of such issues. The Commando Brigade Commander, Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarachchi along with all the Commanding Officers, School Commandants and all the staff officers of the Commando Regimental Centre took part in the administrative inspection discussions.
