18 Gemunu Watch troops of the 12 Division of the Security Force HQ-Central on Thursday (9), assisted by Policemen raided a cultivation of 745 Cannabis (Ganja) plants in the general forest reserve area of Wattegama in Thelabogala.
Troops and Moneragala Policemen found those plants of 2 feet and 3 inches high and pulled them out before destroying them. Major General Lanka Amarapala, the General Officer Commanding of 12 Division and the Commanding Officer of the 18 Gemunu Watch closely supervised the operation. No suspects were taken into custody.
