For the first time in the history of the Sri Lanka Army, a Cadet Officer Training Course for professionals and scholars of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) was inaugurated at Diyatalawa Volunteer Brigade Training School.
The inaugural ceremony 'Api Army' project was held under the patronage of Major General Lalith Daulagala, Commandant, SLAVF.
The first batch comprising doctors, Ayurvedic physicians, engineers, management executives, estate Superintendents, veterinary surgeons, journalists, agricultural officers, custom officers and surveyors is to follow a one-month training programme before taking up their new duties.
