Buttala OCDC Junior Command Course Ends

The graduation ceremony of the Junior Command Course - 20 got underway at Buttala Officer Career Development Centre (OCDC) auditorium on 09 March 2021. The Commandant, OCDC, Major General Swarna Bothota as the Chief Guest, together with the overlooking Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors and other members of the permanent staff attended the event.

Commenced on 23 November 2020, the 4-month long Course was followed by 76 Officers and Major W.A.C.N Karunathilake of Sri Lanka Light Infantry showcasing an outstanding performance secured the first place out of 76 Officers.

The Commandant and the Overlooking Deputy Commandant and the Chief Instructor gave away certificates to the recipients. Appreciative of dedicated tutelage of instructors, 8 mini radio sets were gifted by student officers for distribution and the gift was received by the Commandant. Afterwards, the Commandant addressed the graduates before the day’s proceedings culminated with a fabulous entertainment session and a course-end Mess Night.

Following five officers received the highest aggregate marks to receive certificates from the Commandant:

Major S.A.P.R Gunasekara - SLA

Major K.H.L.V Karunarathna - SLE
