Low-income group families living in Mulleriyawa South, Dodangahahena, Madinnagoda and Elhena areas, served by 2 (v) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 144 Brigade of the 14 Division under the Security Force HQ-West were the beneficiaries of more than 500 packs of dry rations, sponsored jointly by the renowned Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation and the Tan Ngak Buay & Kee Meng Lang Foundation of Singapore after proper initiation and coordination was done by the Army.
The necessary arrangements on Saturday (6) at Madinnagoda Suramyaramya Temple covering 04 Grama Seva Divisions were coordinated by Army personnel of the 144 Brigade and 2 (v) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the guidance of the Commander, 144 Brigade, Brigadier K M V Kodituwakku.
Ven Talagala Sumanaratana Nayake Thero of Talagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation took part in the distribution ceremony with Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna, General Officer Commanding 14 Division, Commander 144 Brigade, 2 (v) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops and several state authorities participated in the distribution programme.
