Brigadier General Shamim Ahmed ndc psc, Director General of Principal Staff Office to Armed Forces Division of the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangladesh, currently in Sri Lanka to attend the APCSS Building Partnership in South Asia Disaster Risk Reduction Workshop in Colombo paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday (4) morning.
During the brief meeting, the visiting Brigadier General Shamim Ahmed, on behalf of Lieutenant General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Hug, Principal Staff Officer to Armed Forces Division at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dhaka, handed over a special memento to Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva with his best wishes and compliments on his assumption of office as the new Commander of the Army in Sri Lanka.
Both Brigadier General Ahmed and Lieutenant General De Silva shared views on healthy and friendly relations that exist between both Armies for many years and continuing support for training of officers in the Bangladesh National Defence College and elsewhere. They also explored possibilities of further strengthening bilateral programmes and exchange of training modules.
Commodore S. Aslam Parvez, Defence Advisor in High Commission for Bangladesh was also present during this cordial meeting at the Commander’s Office.
