The awarding of insignias to students who followed the Special Infantry Operation Team (SIOT) Course No - 76 was held on 19 June at the Army Training School (ATS) -Maduruoya where Brigadier Najeewa Edirisinghe, Commandant, ATS graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The SIOT course began on 27 April and was conducted over a period of 91 days with the participation of 6 Officers and 189 Other Ranks of the 58 Division. The Course was conducted under the seven phases as Engineering Phase, First Aid Phase, Signal Phase, Air Marshaling Phase, Marksmanship Phase, Artillery Phase and Tactics Phase.
The SIOT course empowers a soldier to survive in the face of the enemy.

Best Soldier - Sargent R.A.G.C Ranasighe - 1 Gamunu Watch
Best Shooter - Private R.G.D.N. Bandara - 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment
Best in Physical fitness - Lance Corporal M. G.B.U Keerthi Kumara
