The annual distribution of school accessories to sons and daughters of Civil Security Department (CSD) personnel, both serving and dead while on duty took place at Battaramulla ‘Suhurupaya’ complex on Thursday (20).
Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) at the invitation of both Major General Ranjan Lamahewage (Retd), Director General, CSD and Mrs Upendra Lamahewage, Chairperson, CSD Seva Vanitha Unit graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony, rich with colourful entertaining features, attended by Chairpersons of Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force Seva Vanitha Units also saw school books, exercise books and accessories delivered to those students on the occasion, in addition to award of some laptops for students who have received admission to universities.
Mrs Sujeewa Nelson as the Chief Guest awarded those incentives to the students of CSD families, together with chairpersons of Navy and Air Force Seva Vanitha Units.
Major General Ranjan Lamahewage (Retd), Director General, CSD and Mrs Upendra Lamahewage, Chairperson, CSD Seva Vanitha Unit, Brigadier Sumedha Balasooriya, Brigadier Coordination of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, CSD Senior Officers and a limited number of invitees attended the occasion.
