The 48th National Karate Tournament was conducted from 6 to 9 June 2024 at the Provincial Sport Complex in Kotavila, Matara. The Army men's team excelled, securing 05 gold medals, 05 silver medals, and 08 bronze medals across all 07 events. The Army women's team also performed admirably, securing 1 bronze medal.
The teams participated in the tournament under the guidance of Major General S.W.M. Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces – West and Chairman of the Army Karate Committee and supervision of Brigadier R.D. Sallay ndc, Deputy Chairman of the Army Karate Committee.
