The Army-undertaken renovation work of the students’ hostel at Hanwella Rajasinghe Maha Vidyalaya as directed by HE the President's 'Gama Samaga Pilisandarak' project is now underway to be in line with the 'Sawubhagye Dekma' (Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour) national policy frame work of the government.
Funds allocated by the State Ministry of Rural and School Sports Infrastructure Improvement have enabled 15 (V) Sri Lanka Engineer Regiment troops to continue with the project that got to a start in October 2021.
The supervision of Brigadier Asanga Perera, Commander of the General Engineer Brigade as guided by the Chief Field Engineer Major General Chandana Wijayasundara and the General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division, Major General Mahinda Jayawardana has expedited its work as planned.
Sri Lanka Army Engineer Regiment troops as per instructions of the Commander of the Army are currently conducting many nation-building projects, such as infrastructure-building, renovation and excavation of abandoned tanks, mending or repairing road networks, etc.
