Army facilitated access to more than 500 devotees who attended the centenary celebrations of St. James Church, located Palaly South close to the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ -J) on Sunday (27).
On the Request of Rev. Fr. Anton Bala, St. Joseph’s Church, Atchuvely Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J facilitated the conduct of celebration.
Troops of 7 Gajaba Regiment completed renovation work and clean -up of surroundings, prior to the Church ceremony. Water and sanitary facilities were also provided for devotees by the troops.
The mass was conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas Saundaranayagam, Bishop of Jaffna.
