The final rites of Lance Corporal A.P. Mariyalujison of the 12 (V) Engineer Services Regiment, who passed away due to critical injuries sustained in a train accident in Murikandy on 20 April 2026, were conducted with full military honours on 01 May 2026 at the Panikkaiyadi Swasti Public Cemetery Aiyakachchi, Kilinochchi.
Following the accident, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. However, he passed away while receiving treatment.
He joined the Sri Lanka Army on 01 June 2014.
Major General K.J.N.M.P.K. Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and relatives paid final respects to the late Non-Commissioned Officer.
