Army Gets ‘Manusath Derana’ to Distribute Relief Assistance for Flood Victims in Kilinochchi

A total of 100 flood-affected families in Uriyan West, Paranamoddai, Upparu, Pulingathevan Kandal, Mangayan Murippu, Puthukkulam and Paley Korakkankanddu villages in the Kandaveli Divisional Secretariat in the Uriyan and Murusamotai Grama Seva Divisions received dry-ration packets, each worth about Rs. 3000/= following coordination, done by 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops serving the 573 Brigade in the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi.

‘The Manusath Derana’ humanitarian project in response to the Army request for assistance to flood-affected victims came forward to get those essentials for distribution on Thursday (27) as recommended by respective Grama Niladharis (state officials).

These packets contained rice, sugar, dhal, canned fish, noodles, tea, biscuit packets, soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes and several other essentials. After inviting them to the Murugananda Primary School in Uriyan, those essentials were distributed.
