Army Fulfills Urgent Need of Blood at Jaffna Teaching Hospital

At the request of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital authorities, the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna on Friday (02) organized a blood donation campaign to fulfill requirements of the hospital Blood Bank.

It was organized by the troops of 23 Gajaba Regiment, serving in Jaffna, when the Jaffna Blood Bank ran short of blood required by the patients waiting to undergo urgent surgeries.

Soldiers and Police officers donated 332 pints of blood to the Blood Bank on Friday.

Deputy Director of Jaffna Teaching Hospital Dr. Sri Bhavaraja, Commander 511 Brigade Colonel Wijendra Goonathilake, Commander 512 Brigade Colonel Ajith Pallewala, doctors, nurses and senior officers of the 51Division were present at the occasion.
