Army Driving Licences To Go Digital

Driving licences, issued to Army personnel by the Army are to be digitalized to suit international standards and issue of them, is to be streamlined in keeping with a new set of conditions and procedures as per instructions, given by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.

Following recommendations forwarded by Army Directorate of Supply and Transport (DST), the Directorate of Personnel Administration (DPA) in conformity with Army routine orders, has endorsed the issue of those new digitalized competence licences to Army personnel on the directives of the Commander of the Army.

Brigadier K.W Edema, Director, Supply and Transport Thursday (26) afternoon presented the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya with a replica of the new digitalized licence at the latter’s office at Army Headquarters for his observations.

Brigadier K.W Edema, Director Supply and Transport gave a briefing on the sophisticated technicalities of the new digitalized licence and how it had been designed to match with international standards to the Commander.

Major General S.K. Weerasinghe, Director General Financial Management, Brigadier H.J. Senevirathne, Director Personnel Administration, Brigadier P. Ruwan Wanigasuriya, Director of Training and a few others were present at the occasion.
