The Army-built three new houses in Wanni and one more house in Kilinochchi were handed over to civilians of low income group during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival season.
The three houses built in Veherathenna resettled village under the supervision of the Security Force Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W) were sponsored by Ceylon Cold Stores PLC Chairman and his family members. 623 Brigade troops using their expertise and labour erected these three new houses within a couple of months on the instructions given by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W.
A brief ceremony on April 12 saw these three new houses delivered to three resettled families who were without proper houses.
Meanwhile, the Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on the directions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN completed the construction of one more new house at Kilinochchi.
During a brief ceremony, the new house built by the Army was vested in the family who were without a proper shelter for more than four years.
The ceremony took place on the Sinhala and Tamil New Year day (14).
