The Army boxer, Lance Corporal P.A.R Prasanna of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), bringing credit and admiration to the country and the Army alike won the first place (57 weight class) in the ‘LES Centuries International Boxing Tournament Paris - 2022’, held in Paris during 12 - 15 May.
He is the only boxer who represented Sri Lanka in the Sri Lanka National Team and won. He is a member in the Army Boxing Association and was the only boxer who participated in an international boxing tournament before he competes in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games 2022.
To its credit, the Sri Lanka Army is the only organization which has groomed all five boxers who have been qualified to compete in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games 2022.
