Army Bowsers Busy Providing Water

Sri Lanka Army troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) in the week just ended (Sept 2 - 8) continued its humanitarian services by way of distributing water among drought affected civilians living in 111, 112 and 121 Brigade Headquarters areas of responsibility.

On the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C, Army water bowsers were used for this purpose in Minipe Divisional Secretariat area, Meegahakiula Divisional Secretariat area, Siyambalanduwa, Thanamalwila, Wellawaya, Buttala, Moneragala, Medagama, Bibila, Madulla and Badalkumbura Divisional Secretariat areas during those days.

More than 20,000 families were the beneficiaries of this humanitarian assistance. Many civilians too supported the troops for distribution of drinking water.

Sri Lanka Army used more than 25 bowsers for this humanitarian purpose in the past one week.
