Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army who is also the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, joined the Annual General Meeting (AGM) sessions of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Ladies Club, held on Saturday (16) at SLAC Regimental Centre, Rock House, Modera.
The Chief Guest, Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) who is also the Chairperson, SLAC Ladies Club, presided the AGM, coloured by a series of new features that followed afterwards towards the end of the meeting. More than 170 lady members participated in the meeting and subsequent arrangements.
The occasion also turned out to be a family get-together as dusk fell when all family members of married SLAC officers began taking part in several features of entertainment, accompanied by children.
The Commander made use of the event and moved freely sharing pleasantries with those present at the occasion as fun-making events brought thrill and amusement to the day’s agenda.
