Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Brigade troops innovated a special disinfection chamber and 30 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits and presented them to the Colombo South Hospital this morning (7) following a request the Hospital made to the Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps responded to the need and innovated them within a day or two with the help of SLAC Officers and Other Ranks.
They were taken to the hospital and handed over by Major General Liyanage after a brief meeting with hospital authorities. In addition, SLAC troops donated 14 more PPE kits that could be used for personal safety to the De Soyza Maternity Hospital this morning.
