The forthcoming ‘Towards Lasting Peace and Stability’ defence seminar to be held in Colombo shortly received an encouraging gesture of goodwill when the famous Associated Motor Ways (AMW) Company (Pvt) Ltd donated a sum of Rs 5 lakhs to the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya Thursday (3) morning towards its successful conduct.
AMW Company (Pvt) Ltd Chairman, Mr Thilak De Zoysa, together with the Company’s Managing Director met the Commander of the Army at his office and extended their best wishes for the effective completion of the project. Last year, the same Company in response to a request made by the Commander himself in favour of the maiden seminar sponsored an important segment of that arrangement with a considerable sponsorship.
Acknowledging Thursday’s (3) gesture, the Commander thanked the AMW Company for its thoughtfulness and understanding on a topical national event of this nature.
