All Ready to Mark 73rd Birthday of the Army

The Sri Lanka Army, the indispensable ‘Protectors of the Nation’ enters its 73rd milestone anniversary on 10th October 2022. The Sri Lanka Army, one of the most experienced in the battlefield and professional organizations in the world has to its credit reached new heights in many a field both here and abroad.

This year’s simple anniversary ceremonies as has been the practice give pride of place to religious ceremonies of all faiths at Kataragama, Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque, Wellawatte Mayurapathy Kovil, Sri Dalada Maligawa, All Saints’ Church at Borella before major formal military ceremonies get underway at the Army Headquarters, War Heroes’ Memorial at Battaramulla, Army Day Parade and a few other formal arrangements.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest is expected to grace all segments of the anniversary ceremonies.
