All Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka in UK Meets Jaffna Commander

A delegation, led by the Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka in the UK during a visit to the Northern Province met Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) at the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) premises in Palaly on Saturday (6).

During the cordial meeting, Major General Hettiarachchi briefed Hon Ranil Jayawardana, Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sri Lanka (APPG - SL) in the UK and the accompanying team on post-conflict military commitments in the peninsula and civil-military cooperation projects with special focus on peace-building and reconciliation efforts.

Major General Hettiarachchi also elaborated the delegation on all other humanitarian projects, being carried out by the SFHQ-J troops in coordination with other civil sector donors and philanthropists. Presentation of a memento to the delegation by Major General Hettiarachchi brought the cordial meeting to culmination.
