Task Force 3 Headquarters at Akkaraipattu gave their cooperation and facilitated the conduct of parallel National Independence Day celebrations at several schools in the area at the request of school authorities.
Vipulananda Vidyalaya at Kartheeve, Bakmitiyawa Vidyalaya, Tamil Methodist School at Pothuvil and Thirukkovil Town Vidyalaya joined these Independence Day commemoration ceremonies that coincided with the main event at Trincomalee on February 4.
Hoisting of the National Flag, a Two-minute silence in remembrance of fallen War Heroes and recital of National Anthem were among the major highlights during these events.
Principals, teachers, parents, students and respective senior citizens attended these separate events.
