As of this morning (24), a total of 492 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them are locally-identified ones, including the majority 103 from Colombo district, 88 from Gampaha district, 53 from Ampara district and 248 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (24), a total of 81,008 persons, inclusive of 77,410 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 75,841 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 4,714 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 732 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 3 more deaths have been reported from Nuwara Eliya, Walapane and Wattala areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 453 by this morning (24).
