887 More Confirmed Positive to COVID-19 – NOCPCO

As of this morning (22), a total of 887 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 13 Sri Lankan expatriates, a foreigner and other 873 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 337 from Colombo district, 136 from Gampaha district, 71 from Kalutara district and other 327 from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (22), a total of 56,075 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 47,983 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,816 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (22), 769 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. Two more deaths have been reported from Athurugiriya and Peliyagoda in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 276 by this morning (22).

By this morning (22), the flight QR 668 from Kuwait with 28 passengers, the flight UL 605 from Australia with148 passengers and the flight UL 544 from Japan with 20 passengers have arrived.

The flight UL 554 from Germany with 26 passengers, the flight UL102 from the Maldives with 27 passengers, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 52 passengers, the flight UL 190 from Bangladesh with 41 passengers, the flight PQ 555 from Ukraine with 106 passengers, the flight UL 320 from Malaysia with 22 passengers, the flight MU 231 from the China with 54 passengers, the flight AI 1273 from India with 35 passengers, the flight EK 648 from the UAE with 70 passengers, and the flight SQ 468 from Singapore with 21 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
