83, 241 Persons among Infected-NOCPCO

As of this morning (1), a total of 352 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Two Sri Lankan expatriates and 350 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 112 from Colombo district, 57 from Gampaha district, 50 from Ratnapura district and 131 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (1), a total of 83,241 persons, inclusive of 79,594 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 78,946 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,824 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 574 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 7 more deaths have been reported from Kurunegala, Anuradapura, Pannipitiya, Rukgahawila, Demalagama, Colombo 5 and Gampaha areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 471 by this morning (1).
