8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under command to the 611 Brigade of the 61 Division under the Security Force HQ-West on Tuesday afternoon (1) brought a fast-spreading bush-fire in the general Sembuwatta forest area of Yatiyantota under control after the fire broke out due to dry weather.
The timely assistance extended by troops enabled the total control of its further spread. Commanding Officer of the 8 SLSR on the guidelines given by the 611 Brigade Commander carried out the operation.
